May they rest in peace and rise in glory: Honoring Cornelia Keller and Roger Gentile, Priest
The Christoph Keller, Jr. Library received word today of the passing of Cornelia Keller, sister of our generous benefactor, the Rt. Rev. Christoph Keller, Jr. Ms. Keller passed on January 16, 2013; the funeral was held in Virginia on January 26, and you can read about her life and ministry in this obituary. We continue to be grateful to the Keller family for their generosity and love for the General Theological Seminary, and we hold them in prayer as they cope with their loss.
Also over the winter break, we received word of the passing of friend and priest Roger M.C. Gentile, a GTS graduate who had worked here at the seminary and at many area parishes within the Diocese of New York. You can read Dean Malloy’s notice of his passing here. A Vigil will be held at St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church in Manhattan on Friday, February 8 from 5 until 7 pm. This time to visit and pray with Father Gentile’s family will conclude at 7 P.M. with Vespers of the Dead. Rt Rev’d Andrew M. L. Dietsche, Bishop of New York, will celebrate Father Gentile’s funeral Mass on Saturday, February 9 .
